Making a car insurance claim is easy and we're here to guide you through the claims process.
Call us any time of day on 08000 11 31 21 and select option 1.
There are a few ways you can make a claim:
1. You can go to our Claims section on our website and choose which number applies to you. If it's a Policy Extra claim, then we put you through directly to the provider.
This is a claim where another person is ‘at fault’ and your insurer can recover the cost of the claim from that person.
This is an accident or loss where you are considered at blame.
However, you can still be in an incident that wasn’t your fault but gets classified as “at fault” because your insurance company can’t recover costs from somebody else.
This is why theft, malicious damage or fire claims are always treated as “at fault” even though you may not be personally at blame.
For example, if your car was hit while parked by someone who can’t be found or if an animal jumps out at you while you are driving. Both events would count as an “at fault claim”.
If your claim is settled as “at fault”, the discount your No Claims Bonus offers will sadly be reduced.
Don't worry though, you won't lose all the years you have built up, you might not get as big a discount as normal.
If your claim is settled as "non-fault", your No Claims Bonus won't be affected.
What if I have No Claims Bonus Protection?
This policy protects your No Claims Bonus, so you can make one (or more) fault claims before your No Claims Bonus discount is reduced.
If you have No Claims Bonus protection and have a claim that is open/fault, you won't lose your No Claims Bonus, you just won't earn an extra year of no claims.
It’s easy to make a quick windscreen claim – just call our number and select option 1 for claims. If you are insured with Highway/LV its option 1 again. If you are insured with any other insurer, it's option 2.
We’ll need a few details like your policy number and your car reg.
You must contact the police if one of the following has happened in an incident:
- Someone has been injured
- Your car has been broken into
- Your car was stolen
- Your car has been maliciously damaged or vandalised
- You feel something illegal has happened (e.g crash for cash scam)
To make a claim for theft, attempted theft or vandalism, you must get a crime report number from the police and give it to your insurer.
